Saturday 19th July 2008 was the inaugural Volcom Stone Australian
Peanut Butter and Rail Jam snowboard event at Mt. Buller,

Although Mother Nature gave us nothing but gnarliness the sunshine on the kids faces
shone brighter than the Southern Cross. Product was flying everywhere and the crowd went
mental over the most fun day of snowboarding ever seen at Mt. Buller for the inaugural
Volcom Stone's Australian Peanut Butter and Rail Jam snowboard event.

Family, friends, kids and competitors stayed the entire day in blistering snow swept conditions to witness,
experience and be a part of something special. The young talent displayed was nothing short of shred rad.
The custom MBP course included a street rail, picnic table and a down flat down box with killer jibs
section at the bottom all this was amplified by pumping music, free food and giveaways all day.

The Groms division (14 and under) saw the likes of Billy Hayman, the Staveley brothers and
Daniel Klein battling for top spots hiking quick for more hits for the entire 20min final.
Thirteen year old Billy Hayman from Campbelltown threw down a standard onlookers
compared to the Pro-Am division stomping a massive 180 over the down flat down to switch 50-50,
a crowd pleasing back flip and 270 front board slide down the hand rail to claim victory.
"I was just trying to win and have fun everyone else was ripping too" says Billy who walked
away with a Red Bull stunt plane ride, Stepchild snowboard and a swag of proddie for his
efforts with Cameron Staveley close second Daniel Klein third and Luke Staveley fourth.

the 10 man final saw Iver Lynne winning with consistent and innovative riding on all
features impressing the judges with a variety of stylish stomped tricks with charger
Chris Decampo second and Andrew Roth and Leroy Willies rounding out top four.

Girls division had a great turnout including eight year old Geneva Guy who brought the youth vibe
to the right level having fun riding the picnic table and watching older sister Laura Williams claim victory
after waiting until the final moment to throw down a huge hammer "I wanted to wait till the
end so the other chicks couldn't copy me". She stomped a huge gap out to front board slide
on the biggest feature of the course with Tayla Stylianon second, Ashley Wendorf and Skye Lawrence third and fourth respectively.

GIRLS WINNER LAURA WILLIAMS
The men's final got super hectic as the boys were all stepping up as the kids were screaming
at the top of their voices for the action and giveaways added to a truly unique and exciting final.
The chaos was added to by Marcus Wehrle's back seven over what seemed like the entire contest
sending kids into hysteria as Mikey Williams and the RJs handed out product to the loudest
crowds ever experienced at an Australian snowboarding event. Matthew Sedunary took first
place Jason Maxfield was second, Mitchell Williams took out third and Marc Baker was fourth.
